Through the combination of a weather station
UNIKLIMA® vario with a WLAN access point the data
retrieval by FTP is done via a wireless connection between weather station
and computer. The WLAN radio transmission saves laying of a connection cable
(e.g. telephone connection, serial or Ethernet) as well as breakthroughs of
walls.
Besides a point to point connection the use of a WLAN
router also allows it to include several weather stations into a WLAN
network and to set up a whole network of weather stations each with an own
IP address.
Thanks to the integrated WLAN directional radio high
grade antenna a significantly higher range of operating than with standard
WLAN access points can be realized.
The range of the radio transmission depends on the
respective conditions of the environment. Stable ranges of several hundred
meters are possible.
WLAN modules with weatherproof case and internal high
grade antenna are available for outdoor use.
The automatic weather station UNIKLIMA® vario is a freely
configurable measuring system. It serves to register and store different
measure values as means per minute, hour or day. Additionally, a freely
programmable measuring interval memory for own measuring programs, e.g. 10
min, is integrated. The weather station has Ethernet functions. The data are stored in the
ASCII format and may be imported and processed by other PC programs (e.g. MS
Excel).
